Access Priority Pass Lounges with payment Card

You Can Access Priority Pass Lounges with Your Credit Card

Priority Pass has a network of more than 1,300 lounges worldwide. A Priority Pass membership costs between $99 (Standard plan) and $429 (Prestige plan), but you can get it for free with one of several premium credit cards such as Capital One Venture X, Amex Platinum, and more.

You need to enroll first and then you’ll receive a membership card in the mail. That card can be used to access Priority Pass lounges. You can also download the app and receive a virtual card which should get you into many of these lounges.

Now Priority Pass is touting a new benefit through an email sent out to members. It’s titled “Access Priority Pass Lounges using your payment card!”. That means that you can now use your credit card, through which you get complimentary Priority Pass membership, to access these lounges.

This is actually in the terms of the Venture X credit card, where the “payment card” is listed as on of the options. Capital One says that after you enroll in Priority Pass with your Venture X card, you can enter Priority Pass lounges by showing your same-day boarding pass, government-issued ID and any one of three different Priority Pass credentials:

  • Your Priority Pass Digital Membership Card, which gives you instant lounge access upon enrollment. Find it in the Priority Pass app or when you log in to your online account.
  • Your Priority Pass physical membership card, which you should receive in the mail within two weeks of enrollment. Delivery times may vary, though.
  • Your Capital One Venture X card, which you can use to enter a lounge starting 12 hours after Priority Pass enrollment.

Guru’s Wrap-up

This makes it easier to access lounges as you only need to show your Amex Platinum, Citi Prestige or Venture X card to enter a lounge. This is especially useful if you enroll last minute and don’t have your Priority Pass card yet. But, to be safe, I would still bring my Priority Pass physical membership card with me when traveling.
